Hi, I’m Nicole Wareing, a qualified social worker based in the UK. Over the past six years, I’ve had the privilege of working in the NHS, primarily focusing on mental health. Along the way, I’ve had my own lived experience as a young carer for a relative with mental health difficulties, and I’ve also navigated my own mental health challenges and come out the other side. These experiences have deeply shaped my passion for supporting others in their mental health journeys.
My goal is to create a space where both professional expertise and peer perspectives on mental health are valued and celebrated. I truly believe that lived experiences and real stories have the power to challenge stigma and ignite motivation. I also want to encourage people to connect with their own values and recognise what truly matters to them. Remember, you’re the author of your own story—don’t let anyone else take the lead role. This is your journey, and it’s meant to be shaped by you.
Currently, I’m training to become a Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, bringing a creative, person-centred approach to my work. I’m also passionate about adapting services for neurodiversity, ensuring that everyone’s needs are met in an inclusive and compassionate way. My ultimate goal is to empower individuals with the tools, skills, and knowledge they need to care for their mental health, offering both professional guidance and peer support along the way.
In addition, I have a deep love for reading, particularly fantasy, and I enjoy exploring mental health through metaphors and vivid imagery. I find that these creative expressions can offer new ways to understand our experiences and help us connect with ourselves on a deeper level. I’m dedicated to building a warm, welcoming community where everyone is encouraged to share their story and feel supported—because we’re all on this journey together, each of us writing our own unique path.
