About Me ...
My name is Nicole Wareing...
I’m a UK-qualified social worker (7 years NHS mental health experience), a qualified Hypnotherapist, and Psychodynamic Counselling trainee.
As a dyslexic professional with lived mental health experience, my practice is neuro-affirming by design. I help children, parents, and adults understand their unique minds—whether formally diagnosed, self-diagnosed, or simply exploring without labels.
How I Aim to Help
-
Post-Diagnostic & Self-Discovery Support
Given the UK's lack of post-diagnostic care, I provide space for adults and parents to process a new or pending diagnosis, explore what it means, and figure out next steps.
-
Untangling Attachment & Neurodivergence
Neurodivergent traits and attachment difficulties can look identical on the surface. Knowing the difference matters: one is how your brain naturally processes the world; the other is about relational safety. Untangling them ensures you get the right support for each.
-
Ambiguous Loss & Mental Health
I help families and individuals navigate "grief without closure"—such as grieving unfulfilled expectations, lost milestones, or unmasking in a world built for neurotypical norms.
-
Adapted & Inclusive Therapy
Drawing on creative approaches, metaphors, and SEND experience to make therapeutic spaces genuinely safe and accessible for all ages.
My Philosophy
You are the author of your own story. My role is to give you and your family the tools, self-knowledge, and support to write it on your own terms.
